The International Summer Ski Jumping Competition for the Georg Thoma Cup takes place annually at the Kreuzkopf ski jump in Bad Peterstsl-Griesbach. The hill record is held by Max Kaiser with a jump of 65 meters, achieved on July 21, 2013.

From Dollenberg, with its hotel of the same name, across the valley to the Buchkopf Tower and all the way to the Rhine plain. On a clear day, you can even admire the Vosges Mountains. Unfortunately, the well-built refreshment stand was completely sold out today. Everything was empty. The sign mentions video surveillance, but that could also be used to check the drink supply. ...

Several kilometers of exquisite gravel trails await you in the Black Forest National Park. You'll find great cycling alternatives alongside the often busy Black Forest High Road (B500). Incidentally, the Black Forest Nature Park is the first in Baden-Württemberg.

Unfortunately, the hut is no longer what it once was. Since spring 2025, there has been a large parking lot with a wind turbine construction site (signposts now only read "Büchereck (P)"). The idyllic setting is gone.
