Walkenstein Castle, also known as Falkenstein or Valkenstein, is the ruin of a spur castle located at 359 meters above sea level on the western spur of the "Webersköpfle" hill near the village of Walke, part of the municipality of Oberwolfach in the Ortenau district of Baden-Württemberg. Of the former castle complex, which consisted only of a residential tower, only the square foundation remains of the tower, measuring 7.80 by 8.75 meters with an average wall thickness of 1.50 meters, are still preserved. A very beautiful open-air museum, a real gem with many sights and detailed information without being overwhelming. Good places to stop for refreshments, a children's playground, and great special events like authentic tailoring/sewing or brush making just like in the old days. Absolutely worth seeing in every respect.

Gutach and Kirnbach are the cradle of the Black Forest symbol par excellence, the Bollenhüte, which are well illustrated with figures in various places.
