Great view of the Severn Bridge and Ideal spot to get creative with night photography

When I visited here, it had been raining - a lot - and it was just drizzling during my walk. Not usually an issue! But I'd just like to mention that the pathways in the woods are rocky and very, very slippery when wet! So, just something to bear in mind when visiting 😊 (I cut my walk short, but I'd likely have carried on had I brought my hiking poles, for example).

This was a refreshing rocky climb heading east. A small portion is muddy at the bottom after some rain.

There is a helpful water filling station if you need to top up

The large village of Almondsbury is split in two by Almondsbury Hill, which gives superb views across the Severn and its iconic bridges. To the north is picturesque Lower Almondsbury, where you'll find St Mary's Church and the rustic Bowl Inn. The upper part of the village is more modern and also has a pub: the Swan Inn.

The Ship Inn is a Grade II listed former coaching inn built in 1589.

Great spot to look down the historic Castle Street, with the pump at the top.

The Jubilee Hall was given to the village by Edward Bush together with 4 acres of land for the recreation ground in the year of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897

The Severn Bridge makes an epic crossing of the Bristol Channel from England into South Wales. The bridge is 5,240 feet (1,600 m) long and its towers rise to 445 feet (136 m). The bridge was opened on September 8, 1966, by Queen Elizabeth II and became Grade I-listed in 1999. From this vantage point, you get a wonderful view over the bridge.

Lovely village community shop. They do cake, coffee from a caffetiere and there are bike racks outside!

This is a belter for a gravel bike upwards. Heading West it starts off grassy doubletrack, into hardpack through the woods. A little bumpy in places, but completely dry, so I'd be keen to see how this holds up after some rain.
