Built between 1910 and 1912, this former railway line used to transport labourers and kit up to the Red Lake China Clay Works, as well as returning waste products that were put to use as fertiliser. Today, only the track bed is left, providing a long, winding, and fairly gentle way to get up onto the moor from Bittaford, near Ivybridge. The track is a firm local favourite with mountain bikers and gravel riders alike, and also very popular with hikers and the herds of Belted Galloway cattle that roam Ugborough and Harford Moors. Although gentle in gradient, it's pretty rough in parts, so wider tyres are recommended.

The amphitheater in Saltram Park offers a beautiful panorama of the surrounding nature, such as the River Plym, the estuary and the forests. You can enjoy this view from the seats of the amphitheater or from a higher point in the park

Saltram's intriguing amphitheater was built in the mid-18th century and overlooks the River Plym. It is so distinctive that you can see it from the train from Exeter to Plymouth as you travel past it. See the faces carved into the top of each arch and imagine what it would have been like to attend one of the owner's grand soirees hundreds of years ago.

A birdhide is a shelter where you can observe birds without disturbing them. There is a bird hide in Saltram Park, an estate on the outskirts of Plymouth. Saltram Park borders Blaxton Meadow, another grassland rich in birds and other wildlife. You can reach the bird hide via a footpath along the River Plym. The bird hide offers views of the estuary and surrounding forests. You can see different types of waterfowl, birds of prey and songbirds depending on the season.

Bloxton Meadow is another name for Blagdon's Meadow, a grassland in Plymouth, Devon, United Kingdom. It is a designated County Wildlife Site, home to several rare plant species such as sea rushes, spiny lettuce, bee orchid, round cranesbill, broomrape and autumn screw orchid1. You can visit the grassland and enjoy the view of the River Plym.

A beautiful little cove, with great rock pools when the tide it out! Although there is great surf in the area, beware that there is a lot of rocks covering the cove which can be seen when the tide is out.
