Unfortunately, it's more of an expensive restaurant than a village pub. There's nothing to eat between breakfast, lunch and dinner. Large parking lot and an even larger beer garden.

Sunday lunch smelled delicious. Had a nice pint sat by the river. I'll be back for food after seeing that 😋

A Beautiful, quiet villiage with two great pubs with plenty of outdoor seating.

The village has an industrial past. A paper mill opened in 1829, and produced high quality hand-made paper until the late 20th century. An extension was opened in 1889, and has now been converted into holiday accommodation. Nearby on the quay is a restaurant-pub, the Maltsters Arms, once owned by the TV chef Keith Floyd

This 14th century fortress on a motte was built to strengthen the 11th century castle and the earthen ramparts. The ramparts offer a beautiful view of the entire valley of the Dart

Road bridge over River Avon. C17 or C18 packhorse bridge with hump back and widened on upstream side. Stone rubble. single round arch. Large stone slabs forming string with parapets above with large granite coping stones. This restored Sherman Tank was recovered from the sea in 1984 and commemorates the tragic loss of life in 1944 on Exercise Tiger. The exercise went badly wrong after the arrival of German U-Boats and was kept quiet for many years. A number of the US servicemen who died are still buried in unmarked graves.
