A recent "renovation" has covered half the Greenway (the half closer to Stratford) in loose pea gravel. It is an uncomfortable and unstable ride and very frustrating compared to the much nicer second half, even if the second half is narrower and has a few potholes here and there. Best to come prepared for that.

Beautiful and well preserved half-timbered building, you will not find many in similar style and quality around. Even if you do not enter the museum it is worth a detour to have a view.

Quite busy with walkers at weekends. Speed limited to 5mph with some narrow sections.

Nice cup of tea and lemon drizzle cake, very friendly place.

You'll be bard from Stratford if you gone take a look

Quirky converted train carriage that's a great little cafe. Well placed on the Stratford-upon-Avon Greenway just outside Stratford. Closed on Mondays but open 9am to 4pm every other day.

A small restored 16th century half timbered house on Henley Street where it is believed that William Shakespeare was born in 1564. There is a small museum is open daily from 10:00 - 17:00.

Overrun with nettles, brambles and thistles, this path is awful!

A beautiful church with some unusual architectural features.

A fabulous track besides the canal, which is rideable on just about any bike at any time of the year.

Make the most of a walk around the Recreation Ground by walking out or back along the Old Tramway. This is now a raised, tarmac path that has some lovely views and takes you to the far end of the Rec and beyond.

Good path for anything other than a road bike. Although it is totally possible on a roady, it feels as though the puncture fairy could strike at anytime. It can also get a little busy.

The Greenway stretches for around 5½ miles, from the bridge over the River Avon on Seven Meadows Road, past the car park, and along the dismantled railway bed to Station Road, Long Marston.
