Beautiful traffic-free cycling in Holkham Park - could easily spend a few hours or more pootling round and stopping to enjoy a picnic

I saw a family of seals on the beach!

Impressive country house set in enormous landscaped grounds, with free through-access for cycles. The cricket pitch on the north lawn by the house and lake must have one of the best settings in the country!

Continue past the RNLI station to reach the beach. The sea disappears into the distance across the sands at low tide.

The ruins show just how large this place was in its heyday. The small remaining part now forms a fairly large parish church.

Nice spot to stop for a snack and a rest but plenty to learn too, if you find time to read the information boards.

Binham Priory is a ruined Benedictine priory that was founded in the late 11th Century. The nave of the priory church has become the Church of St. Mary and is still in use today. It's an incredibly peaceful place to take a break in the North Norfolk Coast AONB.

Wells-next-the-Sea is famous for its beach, and is considered by many to be the best beach in Norfolk. With a long stretch of unspoilt sandy beach on a gentle slope, Wells beach is a tranquil spot to enjoy the coast. At low tide, the sea can be over 1km away! Beautiful, colourful beach huts on the edge of the sand complete the picture perfect scene.

We entered from the South Gate towards the Obelisk. The main gate was shut and we thought we would have to go around. But the main gain has a pedestrian gate to the side which is unlocked

Binham Priory is among the most complete and impressive monastic ruins in Norfolk. This Benedictine priory was founded in 1091 by Peter des Valoines, a nephew of William the Conqueror. Many of its priors were unscrupulous and the history of the priory is one of almost continuous scandal. The nave of the priory church, with its splendid 13th century west front and fine tiers of Norman arches, is now the parish church, and displays the former rood screen with medieval saints overpainted with Protestant texts. Go to the beach to check out the beach huts and look for seals.

An 18th century stately home, Holkham Hall is set in beautiful grounds which are free to visit. When the house was built the estate was an empty space but the planting of a multitude of trees has created the woodland park you can see today. The house remains the home of the Earls of Leicester of Holkham but is open to the public on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays. For further details see the website https://www.holkham.co.uk/

You can freely roam the grounds of Holkham Hall. The grounds are home to deer and other wildlife. On certain days you can even visit the Hall.
