Built between 1814 and 1816 by Prince Jan I Josef von und zu Liechtenstein, who was famous for his extraordinary building activities. The palace is the work of the famous Viennese architect Josef Kornhäusel (*1782, †1860) and is one of a number of representative so-called magnificent buildings in the Lednice-Valtice area, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

A very nice castle surrounded by ponds, a great place to go even with a bike.

It was a casual refuge for rulers from duck hunting or fishing parties.

The Temple of Apollo is a staffage building in the park of the Valtice Castle in Břeclav, Czech Republic, part of the Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape and thus the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the same name.

On the north bank of the Mitterteich (Prostředni rybník), built in 1814-1816 by Kornhäusel. It was an occasional refuge for rulers before or fishing parties, served as a gamekeeper's house and later as a gardener's dwelling. The center of the disposition was the hall with an open horseshoe-shaped staircase to the floor, where there was a hall with five windows and a balcony overlooking the opposite Temple of Graces.

It is one of the smaller facilities but in a wonderful landscape. There is also a small kiosk next door.
