Burton Mill Pond is part of the Burton Mill and Chingford Ponds Local Nature Reserve (LNR). Originating in the late 16th century to fuel a forge, the pond has a historical past. By the late 18th century, it played a vital role as part of a water mill for grinding corn, with the imposing structure by the road now standing as the remnants of the old mill. It's part of a fabulous landscape as you cycle along the road bordering its northeastern shore.

Greatham Bridge is a historic bridge which spans the River Arun at Waltham Brooks Nature Reserve. It was built towards the end of the 13th century and benefited from significant restoration work in 2003.

The River Arun and the West Sussex Rother which flows into it are blessed with some of the finest medieval bridges around. Greatham Bridge is no exception, although the easternmost section of it was replaced with a less attractive iron span in the nineteenth century, most of the length of the bridge remains seems to look exactly as it was seven centuries ago.

Graffham Common is a nature reserve between Midhurst and Petworth in West Sussex, England. It is owned and managed by the Sussex Wildlife Trust, which purchased the site in 2009 and 2010. The reserve covers 38 hectares (94 acres) of land that was once part of Graffham and Selham Commons. The reserve is being restored from a pine plantation to a mosaic of heath and grassland habitats, which support a variety of plants and animals. The site has a lovely acid pond, wet seepages, heathers, cross-leaved heath, hare’s-tail cottongrass, purple moor-grass, and other rare wet heath plants. The site also has a history of manorial fiefdom, as indicated by the name of "Gallows Hill".

The current mill building dates from around 1780, although mills and forges have been exploiting the Downs spring water for at least 800 years. The mill's historic water-powered milling machine has been restored to working condition. Burton Mill is open to visitors on the Sunday of the National Mills Weekend in May and the National Heritage Weekend in September.

Burton Mill Pond is a beautiful place to visit. It is an atmospheric hammer pond and holding pond in the South Downs National Park, near Petworth, West Sussex. The pond is part of the Burton Mill and Chingford Ponds Local Nature Reserve (LNR) and the Burton Park Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), which are nationally important for their wetland habitats, rare plants, birdlife, and invertebrate populations.

An unrestored simple church is a rarity. This twelfth-century shepherd's church is an unrestored one-room house with a bell tower hung in slate. It is in an idyllic location next to Greatham Manor House. There is a seventeenth-century altar rail and two-storey pulpit dating from 1820. The Civil War skirmish of Greatham Bridge, in the Civil War, took place nearby.
