The Black Mountain Category 3 Climb from Brynaman is a 5.5km climb with a total ascent of 312m, topping out at 495m. The average gradient is 5.8% with the steepest 100m section reaching 8.4%. Grind out the best gear you can on the consistent slope and gradually as you rise above the valley towards the plateau you are rewarded with some of the best scenery in Wales. You've earnt the descent.

The bike path to get on at Tumble is closed due to felling trees. They have put a diversion in, but it means going down steps. Apparently it's closed off for about 6 months give or take.

Park for free at the Cross Hands retail park (B&M Bargains) then pickup the route just out of the car park A lovely flat, easy going route suitable for all abilities, that follows the course of an old railway line down into Llanelli through woodlands and fields

Penclawdd was once a thriving seaport exporting local copper, coal and seafood, from the Loughor estuary. Nowadays it's a more peaceful scene with rows of terraced houses enjoying fantastic views across the estuary.

This nice smooth cycle path is part of NCN Route 4, connecting the seafront at Black Pill in the South, with Olchfa, through Clyne Valley along the route of the old London Midland Scottish railway line and the Rive Clyne itself.

This is a great cycle path, loads of room for every one

Spend a few moments on the bridge over the River Sawdde river to take in the view. A great bird watching spot, if you are patient or lucky enough you may see Sandpipers, Dipper or Kingfisher here.

The coffee is hand roasted daily in small batches, watch the work in progress from the roastery espresso bar. On-site bike parking. Cake and coffee here is sure to super charge your ride!

This disused railway bridge ran East out of the old iron works, across the river Amman to join the main line.

For families especially, but also those who prefer a more gentle ride, the route is ideal because apart from a descent near Pontamman it follows the river bank and is flat.
