In 1860, the first bridge on this site was constructed for the London, Chatham & Dover Railway Company on their line between Kent and the port of Sheerness. Originally a bascule bridge, it opened to allow large vessels to navigate past and not obstruct maritime traffic on the Swale.

Really like Pilgrims Way, I think everyone find here the way, either on road bike, gravel or mountain bike, even if you walking, the surface is changing every part of the journey

This section of road is quite lumpy - lots of ramps. Just think about the lovely meal you're going to have and get on with it.
