Two village ponds of exceptional size.

Unexceptional bit of country lane. Pleasant enough bit of semi-open tree tunnel.

Mostly a pub but does coffees as well. Pub garden accessed to the side.

Remains of a small ruined castle, mainly an impressive gatehouse and some adjoining curtain wall. In private ownership so not accessible.

Impressive landmark building rising above the marshes, now the home of an excellent cafe (komoot.com/highlight/6057575).

The road runs just inside the edge of a small piece of shaded woodland.

The more scenic alternative to the modern road bridge on the adjacent B1062. A popular swim and picnic spot in the summer.

Excellent artisan coffee and tasty cakes. Cycle-friendly, with open level access and outdoor seating. The cycle rail is a bit high off the ground though: my bike was swinging in the wind!

Scenic crossing of the Waveney between Norfolk and Suffolk.

Enclosed outdoor space with picnic benches facing the river (admittedly across a road & fenced yard). Be careful with the polished floor inside in your cleats, but a great range of food as well as cakes and pastries. Open 9am-3pm every day.

Nice views of the cruisers on the Waveney although the road pinches as it crosses the bridge so you can't stop to admire them.

Great selection of freshly prepared food, hot & cold drinks also ice cream is available too. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Secured bike at rails out the front of cafe. Opening hours 09:00 - 15:00

This museum is opposite Tindall’s brewery which has a great selection of bottled beer available for sale at their gate, a nice quiet lane, Grap a bottle and sit and watch planes landing

Mettingham Castle is a fortified manor house that was created in the 14th Century. Given to monks to create a college, after the dissolution of the monasteries it was sold into private hands. From here, you can see the Gatehouse only, but it's in very good condition thanks to English Heritage. You can't get close to the building, but it's an impressive site nonetheless.

Double avenue of trees lining the roadside creating a striking tunnel along this route.

The lane is a bit narrow and bumpy but also pretty much traffic-free, as a quiet route between Loddon and Bungay.

Quirky little cafe tucked away just out of sight: look for the A-board on the road. Only open limited hours, just 10-3 Fri-Sun.
