The Tat Kuang Si Waterfall, also known as Kuang Si Falls, is a beautiful, multi-tiered waterfall located approximately 29 kilometers south of Luang Prabang in Laos. The waterfall is a popular tourist destination and is known for its turquoise waters, which are caused by the high limestone content.

They charge you 50.000 LAK at the entrance to the trail (june 2025), but the hike and the view is amazing! It can be quite muddy after rain, so be cautious!

The Morning Market This small market is the Laotian "supermarket," where fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat are offered in display cases that don't always correspond to what we're used to in most of our countries. Some produce comes from the surrounding jungle and will certainly be highly exotic to travelers from Western countries. Starting at 8 a.m., this is a bustling place; a typical meeting place for Laotians who come to buy and/or sell. It's a busy place! You'll find many unusual foods such as ox blood in gelatinous cubes, snakes, bats, grilled insects (worms, grasshoppers, bee larvae, crickets, butterfly pupae), fly-covered entrails, caramelized pig's head, and all kinds of leaves and plants used in traditional dishes. Located near Luang Prabang, this waterfall awaits you even at the end of the dry season with impressive masses of water cascading over 30 meters of water. Here you'll find stalls selling all sorts of tourist and other goods, as well as a large food market with a wide selection of foods, some of which are quite exotic. It's worth taking a stroll here in the evening.
