Only open since October 2024 this family run Farm shop is relatively new it is however perfectly situated on the quiet lanes used by many many cyclists between Bawtry and Misterton. All local produce and home made. Great seating area outside on the drive that's a natural sun trap. This area has desperately needed a good place where we cyclists can stop off and get some wholesome refreshments. The family that run it are very welcoming and will even prepare food for groups if you call in advance and pre-order. Give it a go I'm sure you'll be happy.

Pretty old industrial bridge!

It does not look it but it’s a steep drop to the tow path. My advice when wet is walk down the steps onto the level.

This is the joint of the Trent and a marina with a lock protecting the Chesterfield canal. This is my commencement point to complete a cycle of the whole Chesterfield canal top to toe.

You can go straight on and miss out the Marina and West Stockwith Yacht Club if you are heading to the start of the chesterfield canal.

Haxey Church and Parish are over 900 years old. The Church of St Nicholas is a prominent landmark and visible from most of the parish. It was founded in the 12th century by the Earl of Mowbray, the then Lord of the Manor but little can be seen of the original structure, the church has been changed and remodelled several times since then. It was first extended in about 1200 A.D., but the great transformation of this Norman church into the Perpendicular style of architecture took place in about the middle of the 14th century and into the 15th century, including the new tower, 90 feet high, which was built in the 15th century.

Small shop but has everything you could want. £1 card limit is a godsend when you forget to buy water. Believe there is an instant coffee machine if you need a warm up but plenty of sugar on sale!

It's just a big bridge, but the cycle paths hanging off the side over the water do always feel special. Great views regardless of which side you ride on

Not for those of us that don’t like heights! A good experience though. Good cycle paths.

Lovely little village with a few cafes to choose from, a cashpoint and and a co-op. A good spot for a refuelling stop.

The Humber bridge is a 1.36-mile (2.2 km) long suspension bridge linking Yorkshire to Lincolnshire, across the Humber Estuary. There's a really good cycling and walking path in both directions that is part of the NCN Route 1. Crossing the bridge on a bike is great fun and the views across the estuary are amazing, especially when the sun is shining. Watch out for high winds though.
