The current building is a Gothic Revival replica from 1894, constructed on the site of the original two-story brick structure from the 14th century. It served as a prison until the 19th century and was severely damaged after a lightning strike in May 2024, which completely destroyed one tower and severely damaged the other.

The town hall stands very finely decorated in bright colors on the market square.

The Peenecafé is an insider tip. Excellent fish sandwiches, a quiet location, and a beautiful view. Currently open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., it's perfect for a relaxing break.

As a break filler, while the car was being checked, I did a 10 km loop towards Ivenak to Klockow and back to Stemhagen. 80 percent of the route was paved, though.

The Sommersdorf estate was owned by the von Maltzahn family, who had their headquarters on the neighboring Kummerow estate. The Rewoldt family is listed as the last owners. After the previous building burned down in 1924, the building was rebuilt in a modified form. During the Nazi era, the manor house was used as a "farm school for the training of young farmers." After 1945, the manor house initially housed refugees, and later it also served as residential accommodation. In 2005, construction work was carried out on the exterior facade and roof of the manor house. Today, the house houses apartments. An outbuilding houses the Sommersdorf Volunteer Fire Department.

The Stone Gate in Malchin is one of the four gates of the fortifications that once surrounded the town of Malchin. The current structure is a replica of the original two-story brick building with a fieldstone base and pent roof from the 14th century.

Malchin's town hall originally dates back to the 14th century, was rebuilt in 1745, enlarged in 1842, and largely rebuilt in 1900 and 1927.
