The cycle path between Hollfeld and Stechendorf is officially known as the Franconian Switzerland High Trail. The path follows the former railway line between Bayreuth and Hollfeld, which was closed in 1974. Thanks to the use of the old railway line, the route is largely flat and gently sloping. From Hollfeld, the path leads along the Wiesent Valley towards Stechendorf and on to Bayreuth. It is often also referred to as a leisure cycle path or a railway line path.

The Wiesent is the main river of Franconian Switzerland and is considered one of Bavaria's most idyllic rivers for hiking and paddling. It originates in Steinfeld (municipality of Stadelhofen) from a capped karst spring in the Franconian Jura. The river is approximately 78 kilometers long and flows into the Regnitz near Forchheim. Along its course, it passes through Hollfeld, Waischenfeld, Behringersmühle, Muggendorf, Streitberg, and Ebermannstadt, among other places. The Wiesent is a legendary salmonid river and is known worldwide among fly fishermen for its brown trout and grayling. Its high oxygen content and low temperatures make it ecologically valuable. It meanders in numerous loops through a romantic Jura valley, past striking rock formations.

In Hollfeld stands a monumental mural of the Mona Lisa, considered one of the largest reproductions of Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting in the world. The artwork adorns the facade of the former "White Dove" brewery on Eiergasse, in the heart of Hollfeld's historic old town. It was created in 2014 by church painter and artist Volker Wunderlich from Goldkronach. The painting is immense in its dimensions; the Mona Lisa's head alone is approximately five meters high.

The Ideas House, with its "Blue Tower" and "Burning Wall," the Art & Museum, and Axel Luther's studio, are at the heart of Hollfeld's art and culture scene. The former site of the Weiße Taube Brewery, founded in 1769 and closed in 1974, was once the site. Opening hours: Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The "Blue Tower" The transformation of the former brewery tower of the "Weiße Taube" Brewery into the "Blue Tower" is an art project in Upper Franconia. The facade was designed by Eckersdorf artist Thomas Brix in various shades of blue, gold, and silver and has been a new attraction in Hollfeld since 2006. The building is illuminated at night. The lighting design was provided by the Coburg University of Applied Sciences. The "Burning Wall" The front of the Ideas House was designed as the "Burning Wall" by the artist Axel Luther in 2008. Here you can see hunting scenes from the region's early history. The "Burning Wall" is especially worth seeing at night, as it is also illuminated. "Art & Museum" Since 2000, the arts have been bubbling away in the former Hollfeld brewery of the Weiße Taube (White Dove) on 360 m² of exhibition space. On the upper floor, museum corners house an old dentist's office, a hair salon, a watchmaker's workshop, and an extensive ski collection. Changing quarterly exhibitions showcase works of art in the gray and red halls on the ground floor. Part of the International Art Exhibition also takes place here in the summer. A gallery with loans from Franconian artists is set up in the stairwell. Opposite the Art and Museum is Cafe Moritz, with its antique ambiance. The art museum is open: Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Artists' Studios & Sculptors Various art workshops are located around Eiergasse, including the studio of sculptor and painter Axel Luther, the pottery "Keramik im Blauen Haus," and Café Moritz, which exhibits outdoor sculptures made from various materials by the artist Christian Degen. The Bayreuth–Hollfeld railway line was a branch line. It branched off the Schnabelwaid–Bayreuth railway line at the Kreuzstein junction in Bayreuth and led to Hollfeld in northern Franconian Switzerland.

The former castle well dates back to around 1200. It was located in the Zwinger area of the outer bailey. It carried water until 1951, after which it dried up. It is 50 meters deep, 40 meters of which are carved into bare rock.

From 1891 to 1952, water was pumped into this well from the water house in the Kainachtal valley. Residents then collected the water in barrels.

The castle is located on a narrow dolomite cliff at an elevation of approximately 500 meters. It is open to visitors from April to October. Since 1745, the castle has been part of the Sanspareil Rock Garden, created by Wilhelmine of Brandenburg-Bayreuth.
