Great for a coffee

Lovely little place with hot drinks & large range of sweets plus an impressive fresh fruit & veg section. Also lots of gifts & some large decor items. Quite unusual 😁

Pretty steady climb up to Hood Green. Becomes a bit of a slog towards the end due to the false summit.

Its open 09.00-14.30 Mon-Fri, and 09.00-13.00 Saturdays.

Easy access to the garden seating area via the door/gate to the right of the shop. There is access into the shop from the garden. Very nice coffee and cakes too. Safe parking for our bikes in the garden area.

Great climb up Whitley Road over Whitley Common, past the wind turbines.

On opposite sides of the then turnpike road were two public houses. The Bonny Bunch of Roses (recently demolished) was build in 1831 by William Tattershall on one side and the Station Inn built in 1853, a year before the railway was opened. A public house stood there previous to that date, called the Junction. Under the railway bridge, note where the original single trackline of 1854, sometime later was widened to double-track so the bridge was widened also. Look for the masons marks on the stones.
