Very practical if you want to refill your drink supply on a bike ride or hike!

This lovingly maintained Chapel of the Virgin Mary stands on the quiet outskirts of Hochschachen (municipality of St. Peter in der Au), and was ceremoniously blessed in 2010. The dates on the gable ("2009") and on the plaque demonstrate that its construction was a labor of love – harmoniously designed both inside and out. With its bright ochre paint, delicate iron railing, and beautifully paved forecourt with a bench, it invites you to take a quiet rest. The chapel is located directly off a small side road – ideal for a short break during a leisurely hike or bike ride through the gently rolling Mostviertel region. Anyone interested in chapel art in rural areas will be rewarded with great attention to detail here. A place to linger – simple, dignified, peaceful.

On this stretch you have a great view of the Ötscher. But not only - the view extends to the Dead Mountains.

This beautiful place is a station of the meditation path in Wolfsbabch. A nice and cool place to rest, especially in summer, but also a tranquil place to linger and unwind.

A towerless Carolingian hall church, probably from the 9th century, could be detected during the archaeological investigations in 2011. In 1109 a monastery was founded in the Wolfsbach parish area, and in 1112 the Benedictine monastery in Seitenstetten was founded. The massive west tower was built in the 15th century, and today's sanctuary was consecrated in 1456. 1486 there was a fire in the church, probably in the course of the war of Matthias Corvinus. Finally, around 1500, the nave was expanded into a late Gothic hall. In 1517 the Seitenstetten monastery was incorporated into the parish. Structurally, the church was baroque in the 18th century and re-gothicized from 1908 to 1909 by Matthäus Schlager.

A wonderful place to rest, relax and linger. Actually a station of the Wolfsbacher Meditation-Weg. But a detour here pays off anyway, because you have a beautiful view of the Mostviertel!
