5월 6, 2025, Priborn Village Church
The village church in Priborn was built from brick in the neo-Gothic style between 1869 and 1870. It replaced an older building and was designed according to plans by Schwerin's building inspector Theodor Krüger. The rectangular building, with a polygonal chancel and a striking west tower, is richly decorated with decorative friezes and brick blind panels. Inside, there is a simple wooden altar with an altarpiece from 1869, a limestone baptismal font, a carved pulpit, and an organ from 1899. A stained-glass window bearing the coat of arms of Duke Carl from 1591 was retained from the old church. The church was closely associated with the Priborn estate, which at that time was owned by the von Ferber family. Today, the church belongs to the region's Evangelical Lutheran parish and is a listed building.

You should take a look at the cycle path, it's what many railway lines that were closed after reunification look like. Even at home in the Delmenhorst area, people have a hard time with it. The path is easy to ride. I hope that people from the fringe group of intellectuals don't throw their glass or even cigarette butts into the forest or on the path.

Last remaining city gate of the original 3 gates. For at least 200 years the passage ran east of the gate. Once excellently secured by front gates, ramparts and ditches (still clearly visible). Built in the 14th century, raised in 1503 and with a pyramid roof. Until 1867 the gates were closed at night.

Wittstock emerged from a Slavic settlement and was first mentioned in 946 in the foundation deed for the Havelberg diocese. It is one of the oldest cities in Brandenburg. On September 13, 1248, Wittstock was granted Stendal town charter by Bishop Heinrich I of Havelberg. Wittstock Castle, built on the foundations of a Slavic fortification, served as the residence of the bishops of Havelberg from 1271 to 1548 and is therefore also known as the Old Bishop's Castle.

"BERLINCHEN": The first documented mention comes from 1274 as minoris Berlin. In 1431 it was mentioned as lutteken berlyn and in 1574 as Berlinichen. The linguistic "downsizing" was necessary because there was the town of Groß Berlin in the neighborhood. This no longer exists today. The name of the place, like that of Berlin, comes from Slavic. He points to a swampy and marshy area.

Wittstock has a very well-preserved, historic old town center. The old town, characterized by half-timbered houses, invites you to discover and linger.
