7월 22, 2025, Chester Cathedral
Entrance fee is £5 per person. Allow yourself some time, as the cathedral is very large and complex. Its cloister and courtyard are very beautiful. Inside the church, there was a replica made of Lego bricks, illuminated, and even a detailed interior.

This is one of the most beautiful cathedrals on show in the whole of the UK. It is simply magnificent! It has a history dating back to 1092 when it was first constructed as a Benedictine Abbey. It took 275 years to transform the building into the beautiful Gothic-style structure you see on display today. The architecture is amazing as is the woodwork craftsmanship. A totally must see if you are in Chester.

10월 23, 2023, Beeston Castle and Woodland Park
Perched on top of a rocky outcrop high above the Cheshire plain, Beeston Castle is one of the most dramatic ruins in the English landscape. The castle was originally built upon the banks and ditches of an Iron Age hillfort. On a clear day you have spectacular views as far afield as the Pennines to the Welsh mountains. Visit and find out about the castle's 4,000-year history and there is even a 40-acre woodland park to explore. Simply a gem of English heritage.

Story The city of Chester was already an important place in Roman times (as Castra Deviana). There is an assumption that there was already a basilica in the city at that time. A Benedictine abbey was founded in 1093, and the oldest parts of today's cathedral come from this abbey. The abbey church was not yet Chester Cathedral at this time. In 1538, when King Henry VIII dissolved the English monasteries, the abbey was closed. Three years later, in 1541, the abbey church was made a cathedral by order of the king. While the abbey was still dedicated to St. Werburgh, Chester's patron saint, the cathedral has now been rededicated to Christ and the Virgin Mary. Interior of the cathedral Interior of the cathedral Since the 19th century, the cathedral has been restored several times, and in the 20th century a free-standing tower was built next to the cathedral. In 1922, a memorial to soldiers who died in the First World War was unveiled in the cathedral. Since 1955, the cathedral and the associated monastery buildings have been classified as Grade I buildings. (Source:https://www.wikiwand.com/de/Chester_Cathedral)

Chester Cathedral is a Church of England cathedral and the mother church of the Diocese of Chester. It is located in the city of Chester, Cheshire, England. The cathedral, formerly the abbey church of a Benedictine monastery dedicated to Saint Werburgh, is dedicated to Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Since 1541 it has been the seat of the Bishop of Chester. The cathedral is a listed building and is part of a heritage site that also includes the former monastic buildings to the north, which are also listed. The construction of the cathedral took place between the 10th century [3] and the early 16th century, undergoing several changes throughout history, a typical feature of English cathedrals; However, the site itself may have been used for Christian worship since Roman times. All major styles of English medieval architecture, from Norman to Perpendicular, are represented in the current building. (Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chester_Cathedral)
