The Wales Coast Path and National Cycle Network mostly share the same route across Denbighshire and Conwy, linking the major north Wales resorts of Prestatyn, Rhyl, Colwyn Bay and Llandudno and the walled castle town of Conwy. However, please note that the WCP and NCN follow different routes in a few places and, where this occurs, cyclists should follow the NCN rather than WCP logos. This is a very popular route with extensive views out to sea, along the coast, and inland to the Clwydian Hills, the Vale of Clwyd and the northern slopes of Snowdonia National Park.

The Wales Coast Path is a designated long-distance trail which follows, or runs close to, the coastline of Wales. It is 870 miles or 1,400 km long and was launched in 2012. The path is the first dedicated coast path in the world to cover the entire length of a country's coastline. The official start and finish points are on the border with the English city of Chester in the north and in Chepstow in the south. It's an easy to walk Canal Path,it stretches from Ellesmere Port to Chester, Ellesmere Port has a nice Boat Museum, and a friendly café

The section of public footpath and cycling route is closed to the public during race meetings (see pic). Worth checking the racecourse website before setting out for a walk along this route. https://www.chester-races.com/

Wow! What a find. Wide cycle path along the wider River Dee. Some dog walkers and other users but no issues. Stunning at sunset

This hotel in the heart of Chester dates back to 1865, but the site has been home to an inn since the 16th century. The hotel is known for its Tudor style, black and white half-timbered frame, and spa. You're afforded great views across the River Dee and toward Old Dee Bridge from this cycle path along the water.

Good views onto the Chester Racecourse from NCN 568. The racecourse, known as Roodee, is the oldest racecourse still in operation.

This is the entrance/exit to the Chester Millennium Greenway. The greenway spans approximately 13 miles, connecting various parks and green spaces in Chester.

A walk round the city walls is a worthwhile experience, giving not only good views of the centre of town, but also a number of other sights including the river, the castle and the racecourse

It's nice to ride along the canal but he surface is quite bumpy and loose gravel. Luckily I have Gatorskins tyres on my bike but would recommend hybrid, gravel or mtb for this area of path

Beautiful place to cycle or walk the path is great and next to the Dee some great wildlife to be scene would recommend cycling a long this apart from England to Wales in a few minutes
