Entrance fee is £5 per person. Allow yourself some time, as the cathedral is very large and complex. Its cloister and courtyard are very beautiful. Inside the church, there was a replica made of Lego bricks, illuminated, and even a detailed interior.

Would recommend heading from Wales into England at sunset. Riding into the setting sun in such a tranquil spot

Not so much a highlight - rather a warning for the very choppy stte of the road at the bottom of the hill, as you reach the bend… take care - it is decidedly unpleasant at speed and in strong half shadow!

The River Dee round is a surfaced, traffic-free loop of 15 miles (24 km). It follows the National Cycle Network Route 5 to the west of the city as far as Hawarden Bridge, returning via the riverside cycle path along the River Dee.

Impressive Town Hall, free to visit. Plenty of coffee and cake stop options in the area

Lovely country pub with extremely local Weetwood beers (brewery is just down the hill)

Our last stop before catching the train home. Another lovely pub with a great atmosphere. The pub has a huge beer garden with a DJ booth and appears to be popular with the young uns. However, the clientele represented a broad range of age groups and, possibly due to the sunny weather and the music had a great 'holiday' buzz about it.
