Extensive redesign and renovation work has been carried out at the Papiermühlenwehr barbecue and rest area. The idyllic location directly on the Sprotte River is a popular rest stop for many hikers and cyclists. The barbecue grill, which was deliberately destroyed a few years ago, has been replaced with a new outdoor grill, and a bicycle parking facility has been built. Let's hope the area doesn't fall victim to vandalism again.

The church tower clock has no numbers, but instead shows the motto TIME IS GRACE in letters. On the upper floor of the tower, curtain arch windows from the first half of the 16th century can be seen. During a restoration in 1985/1986, the top of the tower was rebuilt. wikipedia

Franz Bartsch, a gifted musician and composer, was born in Schmölln. The people of Schmölln honored him with a loving memory by naming this popular bridge, which is also part of the Sprotter cycle path!
