A lovely section of the Trent and Mersey Canal, which widens out to include twin locks and a bridge. There are views of Mow Cop in the distance and a couple of benches that make for an excellent picnic spot.

Little Moreton Hall is an exquisite Tudor manor house nestled within the Cheshire countryside, just off the South Cheshire Way. This magnificent timber-framed structure, dating back to the 16th century, is renowned for its distinctive black-and-white façade and its charmingly crooked appearance.

Ramsdell Hall is a country house in the parish of Odd Rode in Cheshire, England, overlooking the Macclesfield Canal. It was built in two phases during the 18th century, and is still in private ownership. The house was built by William Lowndes in about 1760 in two phases. The central block was built in the middle of the century, and the wings were added later, probably in about 1768. It is possible that the architect for both phases was William Baker. The house continues to be in private ownership.

Little Moreton Hall, also known as Old Moreton Hall,[a] is a moated half-timbered manor house 4.5 miles (7.2 km) southwest of Congleton in Cheshire, England.[2] The earliest parts of the house were built for the prosperous Cheshire landowner William Moreton in about 1504–08, and the remainder was constructed in stages by successive generations of the family until about 1610. The building is highly irregular, with three asymmetrical ranges forming a small, rectangular cobbled courtyard. A National Trust guidebook describes Little Moreton Hall as being "lifted straight from a fairy story, a gingerbread house".[3] The house's top-heavy appearance, "like a stranded Noah's Ark", is due to the Long Gallery that runs the length of the south range's upper floor.

I absolutely love this place, it's so full of character. A top tip is that as this building isn't heated & it's quite draughty too, so make sure you wear warm clothing in Spring & autumn (as well as winter!)

A nice area to explore if you are local. There are a few meandering paths but sadly access to the pool is restricted. Woodland sale signs everywhere too. Tragic! Explore it whilst you can, folks.
