The section along the B3 was renovated from mid-October to the end of November 2025. As part of the construction work, the cycle path was completely repaired and resurfaced with new asphalt. This significantly improved both traffic safety and riding comfort. Previously existing cracks and unevenness caused by tree roots were completely eliminated, so the route is now in much better condition.

The cycle path runs in the direction of Hornbostel --> Südwinsen. It's a bit of a nuisance if you're traveling in the opposite direction. It's also relatively narrow, but thanks to the good asphalt, it's acceptably rideable.

A wonderfully wide and quiet route through the Bergen military training area. The asphalt is really top-notch, and no tanks were damaged.

A beautiful route through wooded areas on a wide road with relatively little traffic. The entire length of the Esseler Damm is 9.5 km from the L190 junction to Ostenholz.

The cycle path between Bergen and Groß Hehlen is a huge disgrace in large parts. It's not ideal for faster rides because there are countless "root bumps" along large parts that make riding a torture!
