A pretty section of canal towpath that's easy hiking on a well-compacted gravel surface. Give a wave to the barges as they coast by!

Enjoy a peaceful walk through Thorpe Marsh Nature Reserve with pastures lined with hedgerows, ponds, lakes and small woodlands. With such varied habitats supporting a wide range of plants and animals you are guaranteed to see or hear something of interest.

A nice forested section of the route with a good solid trail underfoot which is actually part of the NCN62 cycle route.

There is a unique 12-hectare wetland, designed by local children to resemble a foot, which is an important feature of the site hosting a colourful variety of wildfowl and seasonal migrants. The spectacular aerial display provided by swallows and martins in the summer is always impressive. A mixture of woodland offers colour and variety throughout the year. The three miles of trails around the woodland are perfect for horse riding, cycling or just a relaxing stroll. Visitors to this attractive woodland would never suspect it was situated on the former Bentley colliery. Positioned in the heart of urban Doncaster there is a stunning contrast between the bustling town centre and the quiet calm of the woodland and its lakes, almost as if you've been transported to the heart of the countryside

Sandy / gravelly section of the TPT north of Sykehouse. It's a great short cut to a quiet road crossing over the M62 to Gowdall and do-able on a road bike in summer but in winter, if it's been raining a lot, it can get really muddy and waterlogged. One Easter we had to wade knee-high through very cold water for about 25 metres when the last section of the path flooded at the southern end!
