Beautiful courtyard where we sat to eat. The roast beef and red onion sandwich was delicious but the dripping gravy was amazing

make sure to go in the pub to park your car..i tried to go for a pint after my hike..but was very busy and the ques were out the door

Stopped for coffee before and nibbles and drinks after the walk. Warm, friendly, great food and excellent coffee.

Lovely clear path, lots of nature, easy under foot.

An inn that dates back to 1652, where Walter Scott was said to have written one a tract of his novel Ivanhoe. A superb place to stop for hearty food - country pub classics as well as seasonal dishes, which can be enjoyed right alongside the River Don in the summer months.

A fantastic area for nature enthusiasts that's rich in bird and wildlife. A mix of open water, wetlands and woodland, it's a year-round treat for any nature lover.

A couple of lookout areas along the track where you can spot an array of bird and wildlife. which have seating as well as bins to dispose of any litter while on the trail. Get a good look over the lake.

Nice little village with plenty of walking routes around the river. Seems quiet during the day.

Last time I was down this way the Boat Inn was closed and under renovation (possibly from flood damage?) As of my last visit to the area (25.09.21) the Pub is now open again.

It's a great view and well worth stopping for a look over the edge. It's quite a long way down though!

The Ship in along the River Don is closed so we cycled up the hill the this very nice tea room. Coffee and cake are delicious with a great variety and there will be sandwiches and more on the menu shortly

he magnificent Conisbrough viaduct is impossible to overlook with its 21 arches, 150 foot lattice iron girder span over the river, and 1,527 feet in length. Opened in 1909, it was part of a connection between the Hull & Barnsley Railway and those of the Great Northern and Great Eastern. It consists of more than 15 million bricks, and features some beautiful decorative brickwork. It is so vast that an aerial ropeway was built to carry men and materials across the valley during its construction

The Don Gorge is a must if traveling from doncaster to conisborough, but i plead to you... please stick to the cycle way. I took the walking path and it was not for the faint hearted!
