The south bank path leads over finely gravelled ground. The path winds along in pleasant shade. There are a few short, steep climbs, some with gradients approaching 12%. Overall, it's worth the detour.

The bays and shores of Lake Millstatt are very different. The western bay, with its rather built-up shoreline, contrasts with the mystical southern bay. To soak up these differences, a leisurely bike ride around the lake is recommended. I now prefer a clockwise cycle, as it brings you closer to the shore.

One of the best views of Lake Millstatter which also allows you to contemplate the mountains near the lake but also further away. In addition, you can eat nearby at Alpengasthof Bergfried!
