The south bank path leads over finely gravelled ground. The path winds along in pleasant shade. There are a few short, steep climbs, some with gradients approaching 12%. Overall, it's worth the detour.

On this stretch of the trail you will feel perfect energy from the Riegerbach stream flowing alongside.

Along the southern shore, between the trees, there are always good opportunities to take a look north towards Millstatt.

The bays and shores of Lake Millstatt are very different. The western bay, with its rather built-up shoreline, contrasts with the mystical southern bay. To soak up these differences, a leisurely bike ride around the lake is recommended. I now prefer a clockwise cycle, as it brings you closer to the shore.
