The reservoir is nestled in the idyllic Werder Forest. In every season, it unfolds its own special charm – be it in the lush green of summer, the splendor of autumn, or the quiet magic of winter. The surrounding trees are picturesquely reflected in the water's surface, lending the place an almost magical atmosphere. Beautifully situated, with a small circular trail around the dam. If you like, you can also hike the fore-dam. Ideal for hiking with children, picnics, fishing, drive-in cinemas, camping, campgrounds, and the beach.

Schönfels Castle is located southwest of Zwickau on a rocky outcrop of diabase. The castle boasts well-preserved buildings, including a rampart, moat, and a circular wall. I highly recommend the restaurant.

Various seating areas and free parking make it a good starting point for hikes.
