The Probstenberg dry stone wall in the middle of the Thal Nature Park is an impressive example of historical craftsmanship and landscape protection. This old wall, which has separated the cantons of Solothurn and Bern for 1,000 years, stretches for several kilometers. Between 2008 and 2013, more than 400 meters of the wall were restored in a major restoration project with the help of volunteers and various groups. Work will also be carried out in 2022 to 2024 to preserve further sections in order to promote the habitat for local animal and insect species. There is also an exciting geocache to discover along the route.
