There’s a Banksy piece here to the left of the parade of cafes

Nice cycling area. Wide seafront that can be a good place to learn cycling. Bring more kids and little bicycles.

The best view down the full expanse of the huge sands is from the corner of Cliff Hill and Avondale Road at the northern end of the beach

Gorleston is just to the south of Great Yarmouth, but should not be overlooked in favour of its better known neighbour. Gorleston has a huge bay, riverside and a sandy beach stretching into the distance below cliff gardens and a promenade. TripAdvisor has named Gorleston as 8th in the Best Beaches in the UK.

It'll cost ya a whole pound for you and your bike cheap at half the price. You can pay by card if you don't have the reddies to hand.

8월 14, 2022, St Mary's Church, Fishley
Standing in isolation, overlooking marshes to the north-east, with a few pine trees round it, the setting of St Mary’s is memorable. There is no village with the name Fishley, only Fishley Hall is close by. The west part of the nave and the lower part of the tower were built in flint at the same time in the 11th century, but the top section of brick with the stone belfry openings was probably rebuilt in the 16th or 17th century. Lower down the earlier openings in the tower have also been infilled with brick. These 14th century bricks might have been re-used from the earlier Hall, to the north-east of the Church. Many of the windows in the church were changed in the 19th century, as well as the tower roof from a cone shaped one to have a parapet, the south porch was added then, and the steeply-pitched slate roof, which also covers the aisle (called a cat-slide-roof!). The porch iron gates were placed here in 2009, with A M, for Ave Maria. More: https://www.roundtowerchurches.net/norfolk/norfolk-c-g/fishley-2/

When we passed through in early spring, we were amazed at the amount of Mute Swans on the surrounding farmland. On several occasions, groups of swans flew over to land in Upton Dyke and the River Bure. There is a small car park that is free to use.

Great place to cross the river Yare. Also pub with food. Riding from Norwich or Gt Yarmouth you can have a great ride using the ferry as the only river crossing place. Some lovely lanes between Reedham and Brundall with great views at Buckenham

Every year, over 64,000 birds visit Berney Marshes and Breydon Water Nature Reserve. You will find pink-footed geese, wigeons, lapwings and many more species. The reserve is particularly spectacular in winter when thousands of wintering ducks, geese and swans come to the estuary and marshes. The reserve is open at all times and entrance is free. You can find more information, here: https://www.rspb.org.uk/reserves-and-events/reserves-a-z/berney-marshes-breydon-water/

Breydon Water is a marshy expanse along the River Yare. As very few roads cross these slippery silt flats, this area is one of the most isolated in The Broads. As such, birds flourish here and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) manages quite a large part, maintaining it as a nature reserve to encourage both rare and common species.
