Quintessential English village pond, complete with duckhouse in the middle of the pond.

Lovely spot with a selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Delicious cake and welcomes cyclists with bike lock ups, outside seating and a warm fire on when it's cold outside. Specials each day change on the board, be sure to ask.

Part of Cranswick Garden Centre is a really nice cafe that does a good selection of coffees and cakes. They have some bike parking available (some undercover too).

Very bike friendly with bike racks out front. Indoor and outdoor seating. Tea, coffees, soup and cakes. No sandwiches. Open 11am -4pm on Saturdays (as at May 2023).

Lots of benches around the pond, including some under cover. Great place to end a walk and have a picnic or just relax!

The roads around Southburn, Hutton Cranswick and Skerne are wonderfully flat and have an air of Belgium about them. These roads are also on the Way of the Roses. The flat reward for all the hills before now.

Fairy Dale is a great example of a dry valley in the Yorkshire Wolds. It really is beautiful. There is a quarry here as well as a disused railway running along the bottom of the dale and the entrance to the old rail tunnel.

You really feel as though you a re 'in the Wolds' as you cycle along this road. A high chalky bank to the south west, and rolling hills everywhere else. It is a beautifully quiet and calm place to pedal.
