The Hull to Hornsea railway line, developed by local timber merchant Joseph Armytage Wade, opened in 1864. It was built to serve the Holderness Plain and boost Hornsea's growth as a seaside resort. The railway lasted 100 year and was closed to passengers in 1964.

Always stop at the big house for a well earned rest natter and either a cuppa from the cafe or from a flask outside at the gates plenty of cakes and coffee well worth a visit free to enter the cafe

Hornsea beach marks the end (or the start) of the Trans Pennine Trail. It is a long expanse of shingle and sand and much quieter than nearby Bridlington and Scarborough. Its a popular beach for watersports with swimmers, kayakers and sailors often spotted. There are also plenty of cafes nearby should you need a bite to eat or a coffee.

St Patrick's Church, Patrington is a grade I listed building and is often called the Queen of Holderness. It is in the Decorate Gothic style, built between 1310 and 1400. Burton Constable Hall is a Grade I listed Elizabethan Mansion. It is open to the public, as well as its grounds which were designed by Capability Brown. It is a popular day out in the area with its cafe, Stable Kitchen, free to visit. The most unique exhibit at Burton Constable Hall has to be the skeleton of a sperm whale, which was stranded on the coast at Tunstall in 1825. It is said that the whale inspired Herman Melville, the author of Moby Dick, published in 1851.

Area is quiet close to a road. The fence is generally open so can observe the grounds but not always.

This track is a great hiking area as well as a biking area.
