A detour to the pilgrimage basilica of St. George in Walldürn is definitely worth it! This impressive baroque church is considered the largest pilgrimage church in southern Germany and is famous for the Miracle of the Holy Blood. Even from the outside, the mighty façade is impressive, while inside, you'll find a magnificent high altar and an extraordinary ceiling painting. A place full of history, tranquility, and spiritual power – perfect for combining a hike with a cultural highlight.

I think most people love places like this with water. There's something magical about it, and you have to see it...

The mosaics on the walls are worth seeing

I completely agree. The Nibelungensteig is truly a stunningly beautiful hiking trail. While I haven't completed all of its stages yet, I've visited some truly stunningly beautiful towns and forests along the way. Even though the Nibelungensteig does have quite a few ups and downs, the journey and the effort along the way are sure to be rewarded.

The Spitze Turm (Pointed Tower) is located at the confluence of the Tauber and Main Rivers. The tower was built around 1180 and served as a watchtower.
