Great castle. Viewed from the outside. There is a great path along the left side of the castle, where you come out at the top and go back down via the stairs.

Very beautiful castle. Unfortunately, a tour is only possible on Sundays at 3:30 p.m. as part of a guided tour. Unfortunately, this is not so practical with a small child. The beer garden also only opens on Sundays, but already at 2 p.m.

On a stone plaque at the entrance you can read: “And death, it is a kiss from the Mother of God, when it takes away the breath from you…”, a text by the Stiftland author Werner Fritsch from his novel “Cherubim”.

A memorial that invites you to linger, to be quiet and to look back on times gone by - and also to reflect on the lessons of history. A cemetery has been created here in a place that was completely destroyed after the war in order to erase the memory of the past. Four sections of the cemetery walls reveal the size of this burial site - fragmentary, just as the idea of the life and death of these people can only be incomplete. The site was designed sensitively and atmospherically. The old gravestones of the dead from Schönlind, Wies and Schloppenhof can be seen again. The main stone cross stands right on the edge of the cycle path.
