Perfect place for a quick coffee stop

A nice place to stop for a rest or a swim if the weather is nice. There is plenty of wildlife to spot and some refreshment options in the nearby town.

The perfect combination of smooth-as-butter tarmac and wide open sky. It's good for the soul!

Nice views of the coast and North Sea from the road. There are small beaches dotted along the way if you fancy a swim or a rest.

Shortly after this waypoint there is a campsite. The NSK cycle path leads directly through to the beach. This is a great place to take a break. Shortly afterwards we continue on the specified route.

In November 1967 M/S Norfrost was sailing from Hammerfest to Helsingborg with frozen fish in the holds. After an explosion in the hold, she caught fire on November 26, 1967, drifted ashore and stranded there. The wreck was later destroyed in storms, the bow is still partially visible. The Norfrost was built in 1936 at the Deutsche Schiff- und Maschinenbau AG shipyard. Weser - Deschimag, Bremen, was 50 m long, 8 m wide and had a draft of 3.8 m. The maximum speed of the ship was 12 knots.

You can only get to the wreck parts by balancing over the stones.

On November 26th, 1967, the Norwegian reefer ship M/S NORFROST (LMUG) caught fire after an explosion in the engine room outside of Varhøug near Jæren and drifted ashore in the port of Madland. It was on the way from Hammerfest to Helsingborg with frozen fish. Later storms led to the total destruction of the wreck. Only the bug is still partially visible.
