In November 1967 M/S Norfrost was sailing from Hammerfest to Helsingborg with frozen fish in the holds. After an explosion in the hold, she caught fire on November 26, 1967, drifted ashore and stranded there. The wreck was later destroyed in storms, the bow is still partially visible. The Norfrost was built in 1936 at the Deutsche Schiff- und Maschinenbau AG shipyard. Weser - Deschimag, Bremen, was 50 m long, 8 m wide and had a draft of 3.8 m. The maximum speed of the ship was 12 knots.
