Hümmling Nature Park awaits you with moors, forests, heaths, and hills. It covers an area of almost 580 square kilometers in northwest Lower Saxony. The area has been protected since 2015 to preserve the moor and heath landscapes with their unique flora and fauna. Numerous hiking trails lead you through the soothing landscape and its fascinating history. On your tours, you'll travel through time – from burial mounds to baroque castles. History in stone and wood and bronze Where the 100-year-old homestead stands today, there has been a farmstead for at least 1,000 years that belonged to the Krull family between 1749 and 1982 - a good place to preserve the village's history. Many volunteers worked on the restoration of the historic building, which today serves the village community as a meeting place, an exhibition center and a festival site for local evenings.

The Gallerieholländer windmill is lovingly maintained and cared for by an association. That's why you can admire it today in its original condition from 1881 - although it was badly damaged in the past. During the summer months it is open every Saturday morning and can be visited. The Catholic parish church of Saint Sixtus can look back on previous buildings dating back to 1100. The current church was rebuilt after a fire in the 1940s. If you have the opportunity, take a look inside the church - the Romanesque baptismal font dates back to around 1200.
