There are two ferry terminals on the island of Storselsøy, one in the northern part and this one in the southern part. Both are served by ferries from the mainland at Tonnes.

The striking peak of Hestmannen, visible from afar, is located on the island of Storselsøy. Near the 571-metre-high summit is a radio station. Starting from sea level at the ferry station, you have to climb almost 600 meters in altitude on foot! On top, you will be rewarded with a fantastic view over dozens of islands and the mainland around Helgeland.

Please note: To pay for parking, scan the QR code on the information board and pay after the tour, after you've driven about 3 km. There's no mobile network before then!

Large parts of the hike from Klokkergården to Rødøyløva ascend these lovely, Sherpa-built stone steps. This makes the hike easier than many other mountain hikes in Helgeland. The view from the top is mesmerising.

Klokkergården boasts accommodation and a restaurant right at the foot of the trails to Rødøyløva. It's a fine building that dates back to 1904 and was a sexton's residence. The restaurant is popular, so make sure you book prior to your visit.

This is surely one of the finest views along the Helgeland coast. Rødøyløva makes for a great objective that's been made more accessible by the Sherpa-built stone stairs that ascend towards the summit.

A wonderfully vibrant place for a hike, Fisktjønna Naturreservat provides access to the Marmoslottet – the Marble Castle. The scultpting power of glaciers and rushing water have created beautiful rock formations out of the limestone here.

For the last meter to the Marmorslottet/glacial river you have to crawl through a hole under the rock. Please only walk on the marble barefoot!
