Above the church entrance is the inscription: "On June 24, 1839, when Charles XIV Johan was King of Sweden, this church was built for the glory of God and the edification of the congregation." This is the first date mentioned in the church's history, but it was far from finished. It probably only had walls, a floor, a ceiling, windows, doors, a desk, and an altar; none of it was painted or decorated. The gallery was built in 1874. The church bells were purchased in 1883, and in the same year the old shingle roof was replaced with a tiled roof and a golden ball cross on the spire. Anyone passing through might want to stop here. It's pretty, but not spectacular by Swedish standards.

The short, steep hike to the Brakkåfallet waterfall leads along a small path that requires surefootedness. After a short time you reach the lower Brakkåfallet and just a few minutes later the upper Brakkåfallet. A short but worthwhile excursion.

The Frostviken Observatory (Observatoriet Frostviken [1] ) was an amateur astronomical observatory in Gäddede, Frostviken, Strömsund municipality in northern Jämtland. Tough uphill but the effort is pays well with a beautiful view over the lake.

The small chapel in Viken is made of wood and is idyllically surrounded by trees in the immediate vicinity of the lake Kvarnbergsvattnet. She is worth a visit!
