The glacier has changed the river's course. What was once a small stream is now "unpredictable." Either take off your shoes and wade through the clay, or jump from rock to rock.

After about 7 km and 2 hours 10 minutes, you reach your destination. If you have the DNT key, the hut is a good starting point for reaching the Okstind Glacier.

At the Jordåga Bridge, the path splits. North to Rabothytta, south to Gråfjellhytta. One wonders how the bridge survives the spring melt, when the water is so high even in August.

The waterfall comes almost directly from the glacier, with plenty of sediment in the water. A mighty roar and a fantastic view.

The "Steinbua" shelter was and remains a refuge in case you're caught in a storm or fog. Located by Mørbekktjønna, a small lake, with a direct view of the (calving) glacier, it's a stopover before the final 2.3 km to Rabothytta.

The Jubileumshytte of the Norwegian Tourist Association (DNV), accessible on foot in the summer and on skis at Easter, is located directly at the foot of the Okstindan Glacier, offering a stunning view. Bulletproof windows, as hurricane-force winds can sometimes be experienced up there.

Mørkbekktjønna is a little glacial lake beneath the mighty Okstindan mountain range. It's a nice place for a break and a refill on the hike to Rabothytta.

This rough and ready cabin is passed on the trail up to Rabothytta on the very edge of the Okstindbreen glacier. Unlike Rabothytta, which has many amenties, Steinbua is primarily used as an emergency shelter.
