Store Fotvatnet (meaning "Large Foot Lake") is a mountain lake characterized by its substantial size compared to neighboring tarns, featuring clear, cold waters surrounded by bare rock, scree, and low-growing alpine vegetation. As a prominent feature in the landscape, it contributes to the majestic, expansive views of the surrounding wilderness.

This narrow path timidly makes its way through the low but rich vegetation. Here you can walk, enjoying the panorama around you, hearing only the sound of your own footsteps.

This small lake is situated in the Revadal valley and is notable for being part of the local water system and surrounding natural recreational areas. Like many Norwegian vatn (lakes), it is set within a scenic, rugged landscape.

It's only open during the season. Be sure to check the opening hours. Otherwise, you can only view it from the outside.
