The St. Peter's Bridge dates from 1892. In 2019-2020, it underwent a thorough restoration, requiring its dismantling to be transported to the workshop, where it was carefully cleaned and sandblasted. In addition, some sections were replaced and riveted by hand. No fewer than 1,000 rivets are incorporated into the entire structure. This forest was created in the late 1980s on a former clay dump. Over the past 40 years, the approximately 30-hectare area has grown into a natural gem. Together with the Vaarttaluds (a little further towards Bossuit) and the Oude Spoorweg (a little further towards Kortrijk), it forms a beautiful walking area.

The path connecting Bellegem with its forests, the Argendaalbos and Bellegembos, leads through fields and offers expansive views of the surrounding area. The path is largely paved. While you'll be spared from waterlogged conditions during rainy periods, the paved path does flood in places. However, don't let this be a reason to avoid the path.

This narrow path (shared with mountain bikers) winds its way between the busy Doorniksesteenweg and Leuzestraat, past a large estate. A beautiful stretch.

The observation point on the Geitenberg is a bird migration counting station. Every autumn, the Natuurpunt bird working group conducts counts at several traditional migration sites in the region. Under normal weather conditions, the posts are occupied every weekend in October. Counts generally begin at sunrise, and in good (bird of prey) migration weather, often continue until sunset. As is the case with many chapels, pieces of cloth are tied to the bars of the door (see, for example, the Passjekapel on the Catsberg in Godewaerdsvelde in French Flanders). This refers to a devotion that is actually based on a Germanic tradition: believers come to the chapel hoping for (or in gratitude for) protection and healing from illnesses that cause fever. They leave behind a piece of cloth (bandage, sock, handkerchief, etc.), worn by the sick person.
