On the path between the Haut-Geer nature reserve and the watermill, you have a view of the ruins of the former Hollogne Castle. Only a 17th-century tower and a 16th-century building remain. The castle itself was built in 1652 on the foundations of an old fortress. The site was designated a protected area in 1976. The watermill ("Moulin Castral de Hollogne-sur-Geer") was once part of the castle.

A beautiful area of (only) 34.5 hectares, characterized by reed beds, cattail ponds, and pools fringed by shrubs or with open banks... A superb base for the avifauna of Hesbaye Located not far from Waremme and surrounded by intensive monocultures poor in biodiversity, the Haut-Geer reserve is a little paradise for the birds of Hesbaye. Made up of old settling ponds, it constitutes one of the most beautiful observation sites in Wallonia.
