Together with the Roelanders Alois De Backer and Prosper De Pelsmaeker, he worked for brickmakers and hop farmers, among other things, with the establishment of a brickmakers' union in Brussels and a union for hop farmers in the Pajottenland. Several times he stood together with Priester Daens as a candidate on the Daensist electoral list for the parliamentary elections in the Brussels district. He was not elected.
