The Daalmolen, also called Shale Mill, Moulin al Xhaille or Silverstone Mill, is a water mill on the Jeker. The mill is located on the Daalmolenweg. Before the mill became the property of Prince-Bishop Henry III of Guelders in 1237, the mill belonged to the Saint Cross Chapter of Liège. In 1288, John of Flanders donated the mill to the abbey of Beaurepart. The Daalmolen was purchased by the Hermans family around 1630. In 1759, through marriage, the mill came into the hands of the Baillien family, who also owned the neighboring Hogemolen. The current mill building dates from the 19th century. In 1925 the wooden wheel was replaced by a metal wheel. The mill has been out of operation since 1965. The mill had three unloading locks, but these are in a dilapidated condition. The interior is no longer present.
