The name is derived from Vauxhall. It concerns a landscape park of 5 hectares, which was designed by the landscape architect Louis Fuchs. The garden was created at the request of a number of wealthy citizens between 1862-1864. Originally it was a private park, later it became a public park.
The park has an arboretum that contains some notable species such as the black walnut (Juglans nigra), the Byzantine hazel and a weeping lime and some very old trees.
There are also two ponds and lawns with hundreds of thousands of bulb plants. There are also statues from the 19th and 20th centuries.

The tavern (Le pavillon principal), was designed by Joseph Hubert in guingette style. It is built on top of a fortress built by the Dutch after 1815 and which was part of the Dutch fortifications of the city of Bergen.
In 1892 the park became the property of the city of Bergen and you can find leisure activities such as tennis courts, a jogging track, rowing courses, playgrounds, a fitness room, et cetera.
