Very nice beer garden, delicious food and a beautiful view

Greifenstein Castle is one of the most famous mountain castles in the Franconian Jura. It was first mentioned in 1172. The castle is medieval in its core, but its exterior was redesigned in 1683/93 according to plans by Leonard Dientzenhofer. It has been owned by the Counts Schenk von Stauffenberg since the end of the 17th century. It is worth visiting the Counts von Stauffenberg's extensive weapons and antler collection.

The Heroldsmühle inn has been "permanently closed again" since February 2016. What never changes: ... There you can hear the Leinleiter babbling and enjoy the charming landscape ... we recommend a walk to the nearby Leinleiter spring and a little further north into the dry valley with the karst springs. The Heroldsmühle is one of the oldest Franconian mills (first mentioned in 1355). The mill wheel has a diameter of 7.20 meters, making it the second largest mill wheel in Franconia.

The Taschnerfelsen is a rock face near Neuhaus, a district of Aufseß in the Bayreuth district of Bavaria. It is designated as a geotope and natural monument. The rock is a popular rock face among climbers. Note for climbers: Too many climbers use the areas in the immediate vicinity of the wall to climb. This has caused so much discontent among local residents that there is now talk of closing the wall. Therefore, please only park in the designated areas and accept a longer walk!
