The Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi, at 2,388 m, is located in the heart of the Gran Sasso on the crest of Monte Portella. It is open from June to September, offers typical Abruzzo cuisine and the possibility of overnight stays. If you want to eat at the refuge, I strongly recommend booking in advance. Spectacular polenta.

Very kind even if we stopped only for a coffee and they were having lunch they did not hesitate to serve us. Thank you, place with magnificent terrace, weather permitting of course!
