순수한 자갈길 라이딩. 약간의 휴식을 위해 아스팔트 구간이 섞여 있습니다. 그늘과 햇볕이 번갈아 나타나지만, 제 생각에는 중간 시즌이 더 좋습니다. Verolavecchia와 Verolanuova의 특징적인 건축물이 있는 구간이 아름답습니다. 재미있는 오르막과 내리막이 있지만, 항상 그렇듯이 좋은 브레이크가 있는 것이 좋습니다.

It is said that during a particularly harsh winter in the 19th century, the icehouse was filled to the brim with blocks of ice cut from the local canals and streams. The ice, covered with layers of pressed straw, lasted until the end of the summer. It seems that that year the village managed to preserve milk and meat longer than usual, avoiding waste and disease.

Used for food preservation, in the winter it was filled with snow and straw: the straw had an insulating function, while the snow, with its weight, became ice compacting inside the structure. This allowed the preservation of food in the summer. We are in "Scorzarolo", an old abandoned village near Verolavecchia (BS), here the icehouse most likely served two dairies for the processing of dairy products. The icehouse or "neviera" is made in a truncated cone shape with a circular plan and walls, usually in brick masonry or, like the one in Scorzarolo, in bricks, the ceiling is made in a dome. There are small windows and an entrance, the structure is about 4m deep.

The Scorzarolo Ice House: Ingenuity and Tradition This circular brick structure, with an ogival roof and about four meters deep, was filled with snow in the winter to preserve food during the summer. It may also have had a public-health service function, making it a key element of rural life at the time.

Next to the silent ruins of a large farmhouse in Verolavecchia, the ancient icehouse resists time, guardian of an agricultural past that tells of ingenuity and tradition. At this point the terrain makes pedalling particularly difficult because it is a mixture of sand and clay with irregular grooves, in fact you tend to skid a lot and have the wheels change direction abruptly.
